This year is different than years past. Some students have not been in a classroom since March 2020. How are you planning to welcome them back?
Grab my free Back to School unit! This unit has Chrysanthemum, First Day Jitters, and so many activities for when your babies return!!
I remember my FIRST day teaching, I closed the door for the first time after the bell rang, and FROZE! Basically, I could not believe all 22 kiddos were staring at me. They were waiting on me to tell them what we were going to do first.
I quickly gathered myself and started plowing through the activities I had. I spent the next five years doing similar activities on the first day until I worked out what I have compiled in this unit!
Welcome Back To School Activities
- Lesson Plans
- Chrysanthemum activities
- First Day of School Jitters Activities
- Get to Know You & Indoor Recess Games
In my first year teaching, I wish I had a better plan in place. I knew I wanted the room to be cute, but I had no clue how to fill the first few days of school. I read Harry Wong and knew I had to teach procedures and rules, but I wanted them to love my class…
So after five years in second and a couple in third, I have put together my favorite activities for you! I have searched the web and compiled so many different “tried and true” activities.
I wanted to share a sample lesson plan to show you how it COULD look on paper! This was the one I used for several years. The kiddos love the games and the day always seems to fly by!
I hope you have a great first day of school!!!
