Fancy Nancy just loves using fancy words and inspires children to learn them along with her. There are definitely many advantages to having a sophisticated vocabulary, especially at an early age, including improved reading skills. She has the meaning of the words incorporated into the text, or you can use the GLOSSARY in the back and get in a few more standards with each book!

It is always a good idea to keep books from the library on your own shelf. I line them across the wall under the board and students grab them when they finish early. I love Mercy Watson and the entire Magic Tree House Series. I have lots of units for these books as well.
